I have been hard at work the last few months doing a full review of every single
Bible software package on the market (with a couple noted exceptions). It is finally
done, and you can visit it here.

I hate blogging. In my opinion, blogging is pretty much people with no life reading about
other people who have no life. A recent Wall Street Journal article said it best, quoting
Joseph Conrad: "Written by fools to be read by imbeciles." Perfect.
As most of you know, I am very skeptical of technology, and all the newfound "wonders" of
the internet. Most of the time we use it as a superficial substitute for the real-deal
of living a full life that requires interacting face-to-face with other human beings at any
level past shallow. Blogging is just another form of a "virtual" community, which is an
oxymoron if I ever heard one. There is no such thing as community with people that you can't
see, can't hug, and can turn off when they get on your nerves. And blogging just makes it
worse, giving every two-bit would-be journalist who still can't figure out how to spell-check
his posts an over-inflated sense of importance.
So, everybody understand where I'm coming from? Or, as an infamous colonel once said, "Are we clear?".
Good. Now that we that out of the way I can tell you that I've created my own blog. The blog
is not a diary, it's not about my life (well almost), and it's not a daily running commentary
on this or that. I add a post about once a week on anything religious or cultural in nature
that strikes my fancy.
And yes, I feel like a total hypocrite. I'm just hoping the slimy feeling goes away with time...
You can find my blog at the Fostertribe Blog.

Luke was baptised on Sunday. If that wasn't cool enough, I got to do the baptism
as well. It was my first baptism ever, and I was pretty nervous. But it went great,
and I had a blast. The excitement and joy generated by a baptism, at least at our
church, is pretty hard to match. We baptised five people that morning, and only one of them
slipped on the stairs into the tank. For my first time, I thought that was a pretty good
percentage. :)
Click here if you want to see a video of the
actual dunking. (3mb)
